Former J&K Police Chief Claims Infiltration of 600 Pakistani SSG Commandos into Jammu and Kashmir

SP Vaid alleges act of war, urges vigilance and strong response from India

SRINAGAR — Amid a recent surge in militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, former Director General of Police (DGP) Shesh Paul Vaid has claimed that a significant number of Pakistan Army’s Special Service Group (SSG) commandos have infiltrated the region. Vaid alleged that over 600 SSG commandos have been earmarked for infiltration, with a large number already present in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters, Vaid said, “It’s an act of war and we have to remain alert. We can’t tolerate this.” He asserted that the motive behind this infiltration was to engage the Indian Army’s 15 and 16 corps in a covert war and disrupt the ground situation in the region.
Vaid disclosed that Adil Rehmani, the General Officer Commanding (GoC) of SSG Commandos in the Pakistan Army, has been organising and directing the infiltrators. He further claimed that Lieutenant Colonel Shahid Saleem has already infiltrated Jammu and Kashmir and activated sleeper cells, with two more battalions ready to enter the region.
“It is no surprise the precision with which these attacks are taking place. It is an act of war and India needs to respond accordingly,” Vaid stated, emphasising that India cannot tolerate such aggression.
Quoting sources, the former DGP revealed that a large number of Pakistan Army SSG commandos have been positioned across the border. While only a few have managed to infiltrate so far, the rest are expected to be pushed through subsequently. “This is going to be a long haul, and we need to be prepared for anything,” Vaid warned.
The claims made by SP Vaid come at a time of heightened tension in the region, with security forces on high alert following a series of militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. However, there has been no official confirmation of these claims from the Indian Army or the Ministry of Home Affairs.
More details awaited.
